RICHARD A. "DICK" LARAJA
Attorney, Laraja & Kanaga
Dick's BA was earned at the University of Notre Dame. His JD is from Boston University School of Law. A practicing lawyer for 40 years, he is a partner at Laraja & Kanaga, PC in Orleans. His other community involvements include the Orleans Taxpayer's Association, former member and past President; Orleans Search Community, former member and Chairman; Orleans Citizen's Board former board member.
His hobbies include blues, playing the guitar and farming oysters. He is President of the HPC board because he wants to prevent homelessness on the Outer Cape.
WINIFRED "FREDDIE" FITZGERALD
Freddie has an AB degree from Vassar College and an MS from the University of Pennsylvania. Freddie's professional career includes 28 years in education; 2 years in Pennsylvania as a teacher of physically disabled children; 18 years as a Guidance Counselor and College Consultant in Westport, Connecticut and 8 years as Assistant Principal of a small high school in St. Croix, U. S. Virgin Islands. She is currently retired and resides in Orleans.
Her community involvements include past President and former member of the Affordable Housing Committee, Orleans; former Orleans representative to the HOME Consortium Barnstable County; Former Vice President and current member of The League of Women Voters of Cape Cod Area; Past President, Board Member and present Advocate of Lower Cape Outreach Council; Lay reader and member of Outreach Committee for Church of the Holy Spirit in Orleans.
Hobbies include family, entertaining friends, enjoying the outdoors, gardening, flower arranging, reading, puzzles and keeping informed of current events.
Freddie serves on the Board of Directors because she has always admired the approach of the Homeless Prevention Council for its strong case management program. "This kind of client interaction with case managers and their follow-up is greatly needed on the Lower Cape."
MARCEY L. LONG

Maryann is a retired Social Worker from the Provincetown school system. In addtion to serving on the Board, she is a Board member of the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and volunteers at the Houghton Elementary School, Sterling, MA.
She is an alum of Cape Cod Community College where she received an AA degree. Her Bachelor's is from Lesley University and she earned an MSW from Rhode Island College.
Her hobbies keep her busy and active; fitness, hiking, stand-up paddle boarding and biking. After that, she can be found reading a book for the Book Club, attending a mental health educational conference or researching ancestery.
Maryann is our Secretary on the Board of the Homeless Prevention Council because "HPC rocks!" She wants the community to support the agency even more than it does right now and would like to work on getting the word out about this fabulous organization. "I've worked in the field of homelessness for many years and being a member of the HPC board is a very good fit for me."
VICE PRESIDENT OF CAPE COD FIVE
ORLEANS CHIEF OF POLICE
Scott is the Chief of Police in Orleans. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement from Western New England University and is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
His hobbies include golf and fishing. He serves on the Board "to establish and maintain open lines of communication between HPC and local Law Enforcement, ultimately providing critical services to those in need."
